Feel Good Fridays!

Woman standing in a snow blizzard

Happy Friday!

I hope that you’re all doing well today.  And if you’re not – if you’re struggling to get out of bed, just lay there a few extra minutes.  If your heart is heavy with despair, have a good cry.  If you’re in pain, hug that heating pad (or cat, or grip that pencil, or bite your lip) a little tighter.

Albert Camus wrote,

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”

You do possess the strength to overcome.  And if you don’t yet realize that there is a burning ember inside you, seek the flames of others.  You do not need to endure alone, although you are capable and strong enough.

Hang in there.

ohmygod it’s already Friday?  And after NOON on Friday?  Okay, okay…let’s go find a great quote!

Confucius say:

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.  Some of us beat ourselves up over how slow and carefully we must now traverse life.  But keep moving.  Keep going.  You will get there, wherever *there* happens to be.

Enjoy your weekend!  And love yourself as you are.

Yours, Lisa.

Feel Good Fridays

Well, it’s Friday!  I’m actually writing this on Sunday evening knowing I’ll be totally loopy and out of it this upcoming Friday 🙂 I hope you’re all doing well!

Today’s quote is by Amaka Nikosazana:

“Be thankful for a breath of fresh air to be alive and well. Allow love and happiness to penetrate throughout your mind and soul. Take time to relax and live in the moment, the now, the present. Enjoy today.”

Whatever you’re doing when you read this, take a moment to pause, inhale and exhale deeply, think of something that brings you joy.  Let a smile come across your lips.  And resume your day.  Wash, rinse, and repeat tomorrow.  And the next day.  And the next…

🙂

We made it through another week!  So, it’s Friday, and you know what that means!

Today’s quote is from Roy T. Bennett:

“Don’t let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It’s your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy. Don’t let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are. If you let others tell you who you are, you are living their reality — not yours.

There is more to life than pleasing people. There is much more to life than following others’ prescribed path. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now.

You need to decide who you are for yourself. Become a whole being. Adventure.”

Now, read it again.  Slowly.  Let it sink in.  Go find yourself.  Find some adventure! And live well!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours, Lisa

Feel Good Fridays!

Good morning! It’s Friday!!!

Today’s quote was written by Elizabeth Gilbert in her book Eat, Pray, Love.  I haven’t read it, so I don’t know the context of the quote, but it really spoke to me today.  It may be when you read this you think of someone in your life that has been there to support you: a friend, family member, or significant other.  Or, it may be that when you read this, you interpret this as yourself speaking to yourself…which is very, very important.  Lift yourself, and others, up.

“I’m here. I love you. I don’t care if you need to stay up crying all night long, I will stay with you. If you need the medication again, go ahead and take it—I will love you through that, as well. If you don’t need the medication, I will love you, too. There’s nothing you can ever do to lose my love. I will protect you until you die, and after your death I will still protect you. I am stronger than Depression and I am braver than Loneliness and nothing will ever exhaust me.”

a broken water glass

We made it through another week!  And if this week has shown me anything, it’s the power of togetherness. Vera Nazarian once wrote,

“A fine glass vase goes from treasure to trash, the moment it is broken. Fortunately, something else happens to you and me. Pick up your pieces. Then, help me gather mine.”

I absolutely fell in love with this quote.  And it’s true.  Be there for someone when they need you, or allow someone to help you when you need them.

We’re all in this together.  Whatever “this” may be…

Have a wonderful weekend!

Yours, Lisa

Dalai Lama in a red visor and glasses

We made it to Friday.  And today’s quote is from the Dalai Lama XIV:

“There is a saying in Tibetan, ‘Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.’
No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that’s our real disaster.”

I’ve had a few good days and a few painful days.  I know you have, too (hopefully more good than bad).  We must always hold onto hope.  Hope for better days.  Hope for relief.  Hope for a cure.

Have a wonderful weekend.

burning matches

Today it’s FRIDAY!!!  And today we’re also having our monthly Endo Support Group meeting, which inspires today’s quote.

Laura Esquivel once wrote,

“Each of us is born with a box of matches inside us but we can’t strike them all by ourselves”

Surround yourself with friends and loved ones who will help you strike those matches.  Find your passions.  Support your ideas.  Burn brightly.  And avoid those toxic people in your life that try to snuff your flames.

Have a great weekend!

A cat battling a vacuum

With Surgery #2 pending, today’s quote is one of my favorites.  And who can resists a good cat meme?

Frank Herbert wrote it best in Dune:

“I must not fear.  Fear is the mind-killer.  Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.  I will face my fear.  I will permit it to pass over me and through me.  And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.  Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.  Only I will remain.”

Thanks Frank Herbert.  Thanks Paul Atreides.  And thank to everyone for the support.  ❤

Happy Friday! And have a great weekend!
