Happy Friday!

I have a lot of little good things happening in life.  Unexpected and sudden happy things.  Which leads to today’s quote, by Research Programmer, Norm Papernick:

“Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad.”

I absolutely loved this.  Thanks, Norm, for such a fun-loving and wonderful quote!

Have a great weekend!  And laugh!

Yours, Lisa

Feel Good Fridays

A dumpster overflowing with garbage

It’s Friiiiiiiiiiiiday!  And I’ve been having a stressful week, so this week’s quote is about…stress!  Brought to you by Danzae Pace:

“Stress is the trash of modern life-we all generate it but if you don’t dispose of it properly, it will pile up and overtake your life.”

So, it’s true : we all have stress in our lives.  Some a little, some a lot.  And we all have to deal with it, or it WILL win.  Breathe. Meditate.  Get away.  Color. Watch your favorite show.  Listen to music. Walk the dog.  Cry.  Something.  Let it all out and give it some release.  I need to take some of my advice this weekend 😉

Black and white photograph of a cat with one ear that's been clipped

To all of you who do little things to cheer people up, thank you.  Help someone out today.  Buy a cup of coffee for the person in line behind you.  Tip 20%.  Give a hug, or even just flash a smile.  Take a penny, give a penny.  Feed a stray cat.  Wave to a passing car.  And to those EndoWarriors who send “Yellow Mail,” this quote’s for you:

“Sometimes, little things make a big difference…” ~Nino Varsimashvili

Thank you. Keep doing those little things.  You never know whose day you’re saving.

Two yellow ribbons interlocked around the words Suicide Endometriosis

Today’s quote is not really a feel good quote.  Another EndoWarrior committed suicide this week.  So today is a somber quote.  A sad fact of life.  A call to action.  Please, if you know someone who is going through something that may lead them down this path or choice, please be there for them, uplift them, seek help…

Tiffanie DeBartolo wrote the following dialogue in How to Kill a Rockstar:

“Did you really want to die?”
“No one commits suicide because they want to die.”
“Then why do they do it?”
“Because they want to stop the pain.”

Not one more life.  If you are fighting dark thoughts, there are people you can talk to. I’m always here.

Not one more…please.

Feel Good Fridays!

boots that are breaking at the sole

We’ve made it to another Friday!

Today’s quote is by one of my absolute favorite authors when I was in my teens, Bodie Thoene:

“Being brave…is not always being unafraid. Maybe it’s more like doing what you know is right even when you’re too tired. Or scared. It’s going on and doing it anyway…even when you think you can’t take one more step.” (excerpt from The Key to Zion)

A lot of EndoWarriors I know are scheduling surgeries over the next few months, undergoing new MRIs, are meeting new doctors, or undergoing clinical trials. Each of the has a bit of fear in their voices, a bit of hesitation, and all are full of hope.  Today’s quote is for them.

And for anyone going through something where they need to rise above their fear and push forward.  You are incredibly brave.  All of you.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours, Lisa

Happy Friday!!!!

Today’s quote is by American author, Sean Covey (well known for his 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens books):

“You shouldn’t feel guilty about taking time for yourself.  Every so often, everyone needs to give themselves a big ol’ bear hug and treat themselves to some TLC.”

Yes, this goes for you. And you.  AND you.  And you there, hiding in the back.  This one’s for you, too.  And all of your friends.  Spread this one around like wildfire.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Yours,

Lisa

Sir Didymus, a character from Labyrinth

It’s Friday!!!  Today’s Feel Good quote is by Mandy Hale (a blogger turned author):

“It’s OKAY to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.”

Whatever it is that’s going on, it is absolutely okay to be scared.  Just remember that you’re not alone; we’re all here holding your hand while you go through this.  And you are incredibly brave for what you are about to endure.

You’ve got this.  You really, really do.

As one of my favorite characters, Sir Didymus, once said to his faithful steed, Ambrosius, “Just close your eyes and go!”

metal paperweight that reads what would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

It’s FRIDAY!  And today’s quote is one of my favorites.  Has been for over a decade.  One day my old employer passed out these metal paperweights with this quote to all of the employees.  I still have mine.  And I still love it.  It really was a driving force in my life.

Robert H. Schuller passed away in April of this year.  He was an American televangelist and motivational speaker:

“What would you do if you knew you could not fail?”

And I leave you with that question to ponder.  Have an answer? Let me know in the comment section below.  And then go do it 😉

Have a wonderful weekend!

Yours,

Lisa

Pen and blank To Do list

It’s FRIDAY! We made it through another week!  And you know what that means…Feel Good Friday!

Today’s quote is by 18th Century composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:

“The shortest way to do many things is to do only one thing at a time.”

I know that many of you, including myself, have so many goals, bills, hurdles, or challenges!  So many things we’d like or need to do, but are overwhelmed by everything on our plates.  Pick one.  Whether it be the easiest, the fastest, the most pressing, the hardest, the cheapest, or the most fulfilling…just pick one.  Focus on that.

Baby steps.  Complete that “one.”  And then pick the next.

Whittle through the bills.

Go on that long-desired vacation.

Learn to knit.

Clean the bathroom.

Catch up on your favorite TV show.

Take a nap.

Save up money for that surgery.

Get a cat.

Cook dinner.

Conquer the world.

Whatever is on your plate, you can do it.  All of it.  Even if it is just one thing at a time.  Do not overwhelm yourself with the whole picture – focus on one thing at a time, and you will accomplish them all, albeit in time.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Yours, Lisa
