Feel Good Fridays

a burnt forest that is beginning to regrow

We made it through the week, and what a busy week this has been!  *whew*

Today’s Feel Good Fridays quote is by Roman philosopher, Seneca:

“In a moment the ashes are made, but a forest is a long time growing.”

Remember, whatever “moment” you endured which you feel may have ruined you, or at least scarred you, that there will a time when you are whole again.  You will heal.  This experience will only make you stronger.  Endure.  Grow.  Be reborn from the ashes.

May you have a wonderful weekend!

Yours, Lisa

Feel Good Friday

Edith Wharton in Victorian-era gown and reading a book

Good morning! We made it to another Friday, albeit a rainy one (it’s good though, we need the rain)!

Today’s quote is by American novelist, Edith Wharton:

“In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways.”

I loved this quote the moment I saw it.  And I’m going to leave it at that.

Yours,

Lisa

So today is a special Friday, it’s my birthday!  Going with the theme, today’s quote is brought to you (supposedly) by American President, Abraham Lincoln:

And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.

Live! Enjoy your friends and family.  Create lasting memories.  Laugh.  Cry.  Take pictures.  Make a difference.  Smile at a stranger.  Do what you love.  Make these years count! 🙂 And have a wonderful weekend!!!

We made it through another week! Yay!

Today’s Feel Good Friday quote is by American poet, William Stafford:

“I have woven a parachute out of everything broken.”

I absolutely loved the visuals that came when I read this one.  So many times we allow the brokenness of our dreams, expectations, desires, and life to bury us.  We need to embrace the suck, stand back up, and go.  Use it to soften the landing, propel you forward, to go places, to better ourselves, and to help others.

Not strong enough to build your own parachute?  Find a friend who is going through the same thing.  Join a support group.  Know that you are not alone in your sorrow or suffering.  Together you can weave a beautiful tapestry and a strong parachute.

May you have a wonderful weekend.

Yours, Lisa

Good morning! We made it through another week!

Today’s quote is from a very special young woman, Anne Frank:

“I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.”

Many of us may focus on the sadness, the past, the mistakes, and the regrets.  Let them go.  Try to move forward.  Embrace the present, the future, focus on the beauty around you. Can’t find any?  Then make some…

We truly cannot move forward until we have been able to find a way to release these shackles.

Have a wonderful weekend.  And may you find beauty within, and around, you.

Yours, Lisa

Feel Good Fridays!

Running beagle with a hilarious face, mouth wide open, tongue hanging out, one eye squinting and the other bulging

We made it through another week! And that means today is Feel Good Friday!

Today’s quote is by American author, Veronica Roth:

“Sometimes crying or laughing are the only things left, and laughing feels better right now.”

I have a lot of friends who are going through a lot of crap right now: whether it be pending surgeries, facing homelessness, money woes, depression, or an overall sense of emptiness…Even when the world feels completely against us and we feel like we’re alone, you always have the choice to either laugh or cry.  Granted, crying in the shower is an amazing sense of relief, but laughing can fill a void, too.  Genuine laughter…try to find it in these dark times and just let it out.  And if that leads to more tears, that’s okay, too.

Most of all, know that you are not alone in your sense of sadness.  And that you have friends and family that are right here for you.

May we all find a reason to laugh today.

Yours, Lisa

Feel Good Fridays!

We made it through another week! Which means : it’s Friday!

Today’s Feel Good Friday’s quote is by author and life coach, Dr. Steve Maraboli,

“It’s time to care; it’s time to take responsibility; it’s time to lead; it’s time for a change; it’s time to be true to our greatest self; it’s time to stop blaming others.”

There’s been a lot going on this week and this just sums up all of the drama. People need to step up, take responsibility, and lead.

May you have a wonderful weekend!

We made it to another Friday! And that means…Feel Good FRIDAY!

Today’s quote is by Steve Goodier, a blogger and newspaper columnist:

“None of us lives in isolation. We’re in it together. And some conflict along the way is inevitable. But our highest priority, when all is said and done, has to be commitment to each other –- sticking together.”

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 28, 2015, is a day full of walks and marches of women with Endometriosis and their friends & family coming together, supporting each other, and understanding that they are not alone.  It is a day of unity. A day of strength.

I’d like to see this “day” become a constant way of life.  Not just for Endo Sufferers, but for all of us.  May we all be able to “stick together” with those that truly matter in our lives.  Overcome differences, challenges, and disagreements.

You are not alone. We are not alone.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!  I know I will!

Yours, Lisa

A rocky beach

It’s FRIDAY! Another week!  We made it!

Today’s Feel Good Quote is by photographer and poet, Jaeda DeWalt:

“Healing is more about accepting the pain and finding a way to peacefully co-exist with it. In the sea of life, pain is a tide that will ebb and weave, continually.

We need to learn how to let it wash over us, without drowning in it. Our life doesn’t have to end where the pain begins, but rather, it is where we start to mend.”

For any of my friends, family, EndoWarriors, or even strangers, who may be enduring some pain right now, whether it be mental or physical, may you find a way to allow it to pass through you.  Push through.  Endure.  Come out of it glowing and ready to move forward, before the next wave. Live.

May you have a beautiful weekend.

Yours, Lisa
