Feel Good Fridays (early)!

purple lotus blossom

I will be gone for the holidays this Friday, so I’m posting today!

Today’s quote is by author and motivational speaker, Dr. Masaru Emoto:

“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.”

So please remember : be good to yourself.  Speak and think positively of your condition.  And you are beautiful and strong!

Much love to you. And happy holidays.

Yours,

Lisa

Suicide & Endometriosis

Two yellow ribbons coming together for Endometriosis and Suicide Awareness

I find it interesting that both the Endometriosis Awareness ribbon and the Suicide Awareness ribbon are yellow ribbons…

Today while perusing Facebook, I ran across a post where a Virginia Endometriosis Awareness group had posted that there’s been 8 women who committed suicide this year due to their Endometriosis.  Where they got their stats, or if it’s just in VA, or…national…or global…I don’t know.  (For clarification on these statistics, see the Comments Section below). But, I do know that that’s 8 too many…and I was struck dumb, literally frozen in my chair struggling not to cry.

A different type of Government Aid

Women in Government logo with statue of liberty in the background and text that reads "Empowering all women state legislators to effect sound policy."

Randomly searching online for today’s Endo topic and stumbled upon one of the most uplifting things:

A flyer for women in government to help organize an Endometriosis Awareness walk and spread the news!  I wonder how many of our female politicians, lobbyists, interns, etc. have done this?  And I further wonder if we can write my female state legislators to see if they’ve organized, or will organize, a walk. And if my local city and county governments would mirror these efforts.  How exciting!  There’s also a list of “Endometriosis Awareness Activities” they encourage the legislators to pursue.

Endo Tattoo – Sneak Peek!

Text that reads "sometimes things happen and you feel that you need to mark them down" by Scott O'Connor

So, I’m no stranger to tattoos.  But it’s been five years since my last one. My ink needs to mean something to me…and after my diagnosis and new journey with Endometriosis, I knew what I wanted.

Yesterday, I had my first session (go back in in 2 weeks to complete it…) with Will Novotny at Bad Influence Tattoo.   You, my blog followers, get a sneak peek at it before I share it on Facebook with my friends and family 🙂 I’d like to wait until it’s finished before I share it with them. But I cannot wait to share it with you!  Please be aware it is not yet finished, but when it is, it will be AMAZING!  And all color will be added during my next session with my tattoo artist.

Reader’s Choice : Enough is ENOUGH!

text that reads "Enough"

A personal choice for every person with Endometriosis : When have I suffered enough pain and when do I step up the treatment?

Some prefer natural methods of controlling their Endometriosis symptoms : supplements, vitamins, diet, and essential oils.  But these methods may not work for everyone. I’ve gone the route of prescription narcotics, surgery, hormonal treatments, eastern medicine, acupuncture, altered diet, etc. Others may have undergone hysterectomies.

When and how do you decide which is right for you?  Only you know the answer to that question.

Feel Good Fridays!

Sunset with purple, pink, gold, and blue

It’s FRIDAY!  So that means Feel Good Friday!!

I stole today’s quote from a fellow blogger’s recent blog : Pelvictim.  It was perfect.

“Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.” ~Alice Morse Earle

Alice was an American historian and author who passed away in 1911, two years after a near-death experience.  Embrace today. Every day.  Even when we’re in pain, or depressed, or lonely.  Find the good in the present. And live.
