It’s another Friday! Again? Already?!?! I hope you’ve all had at least an okay week, if not better.

Tell me how things have been. Your ups, your downs, the victories, and pitfalls…

Today’s quote is brought to you by Pinterest:

“You are the CEO of your healthcare team. ~ Crystal Meadows

Crystal is a self-made patient advocate. If interested, you should check out her amazing webpage and follow her Instagram or Facebook accounts. Within moments of reading her IG posts, one hit me in the pit of my stomach. And it read, “Forgiveness for doctors who harmed me” as part of her therapy goals.

Guess what I’ll be doing tonight? Writing a list of all those doctors who dismissed me, failed to take my pain seriously, pushed me aside, or said I was weak…

Always, always, always remember that you are in charge of your body. You.

Empowered.

Love you guys. ~Lisa.

Blogs I Updated This Week:

I added several visual representations of warriors describing their Endometriosis symptoms. If you haven’t already seen them, check out the additions…or even submit your own. It’s a wonderfully compelling addition to our awareness campaign.

Well, it’s the first Friday of March! Endometriosis Awareness Month is upon us!

How was your week? Mine was busy with work, yard work, and not enough sleep.

Which brings me to today’s quote:

“Respect your body when it’s asking you for a break. Respect your mind when it’s seeking rest. Honor yourself when you need a moment.” ~Unknown

I have searched and searched and cannot find who said this beautiful phrase.

But, take a moment to inhale deeply, and remind yourself that you are worth a break, a breather, a moment. Respect yourself as much as you respect others. Do not forget that you are wonderfully important…not just to you, but to others.

And I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

Love, Lisa

Gardening gloves, a small weeding tool, and weeds

Welcome to the last Friday of February 2020. I feel like it flew by…

Today’s quote is one we can always repeat as a little daily mantra. I, at least, need to!

“Plant positivity. Uproot negativity.”
― Lorin Morgan-Richards

Let’s see how much mental gardening I can do on a daily basis, eh? Want to join m? Let’s plop on a big floppy hat, some thick gloves, and get to weedin’ our thoughts!

Have a beautiful day and weekend.

Love, Lisa

Good morning!

Wednesday afternoon I had a bit of oral surgery and had an implant placed within my gum line. I knew it’d be traumatic for me; I have a fear of dentists. But I have found one that I truly cherish, respect, and love, and feel she does the same of me. Still, even with all of that mutual respect and trust, I required nitrous for the procedure…

And yesterday? I took the day off to recover. Not only did I have a whopping laughing gas hangover, but my jaw hurt, my bone hurt, my face hurt. I took the day to rest, do nothing, sit on the couch with the kitties, try to get some reading done, and veg-out while my body healed.

The first week of February is coming to a close. How was your week?

I have a lot of friends and readers who have recently been diagnosed with Endometriosis, or possibly had another surgery (or are facing the prospect of yet another one to be scheduled). I’ve been there. And every time, it gets me all worked up.

So today’s quote is for those Warriors. And for anyone going thruogh something that seems insurmountable:

“When life becomes scattered and completely a faction of what it once was, and everything you thought was once true, seems false. Your heart feels empty, as it leaves your chest. Your mind is blank. Your emotions become so overwhelming you can hardly speak. You’re thinking you have a broken heart when in reality you heart, body and soul are rearranging your inner thoughts, feelings and the way you’re going to except things from now on. You’ll become stronger then you ever imagined. All you need is time. Give yourself time.”

― Ron Baratono

We can get through this.
No…

We WILL get through this. Together.

Much love, Lisa.

It’s FRIDAY!

Today I was reminded of a dream I had a lifetime ago. I was naked, bloodied, and at the bottom of a deep, wide pit in the earth. From above, dead and bloodied doves spiraled to the ground at my feet, littering the floor of this muddy hole. I couldn’t get out. It began to rain. I had no cover…so I sat down, hugged my knees and cried.

And then I woke up.

Feel Good Fridays

Two people hugging
Photo by Gabby K on Pexels.com

Another week is over. January is almost over! Whew.

I miss these. I miss physical touch. And a long, meaningful hug.

“Hugging meditation is a combination of East and West. According to the practice, you have to really hug the person you are holding. You have to make him or her very real in your arms, not just for the sake of appearances, patting him on the back to pretend you are there, but breathing consciously and hugging with all your body, spirit, and heart. Hugging meditation is a practice of mindfulness. “Breathing in, I know my dear one is in my arms, alive. Breathing out, she is so precious to me.” If you breathe deeply like that, holding the person you love, the energy of your care and appreciation will penetrate into that person and she will be nourished and bloom like a flower.”

― Thich Nhat Hanh, How to Love

Consider yourself hugged from afar today.

(I originally had a typo: “consider yourself hugged from afart today.” It made me laugh too much not to include.)

Love, Lisa.

It’s Friday! Already? Where is 2021 going?

Today’s quote is for all of those who are feeling stir-crazy in their homes or feeling down due a massive change in life over the last 365 days.

“Life is just a lot of everyday adventures.”

― Carol Ryrie Brink, Caddie Woodlawn

Find something, anything, no matter how small it may seem…and turn it into an ADVENTURE!

Do the dishes! Pull weeds. Read a book. Take a nap! It’s glorious that you even get to do those things today. And if you cannot do THOSE things for whatever reason, find something you can do: Sit. Breathe. Sleep. Rest. Cry. Laugh. Connect.

Each one, it’s own grateful moment. It’s own tiny adventure.

Feel Good Fridays

the book Quotationary by Leonard Roy Frank

Good morning, and happy Friday! A few years ago, my Mum bought me this book. And it’s fun for Feel Good Fridays when I can’t find a quote online that inspires me. So today I flipped it open to a random page (193, if you must know), and found this piece of wisdom by G. William Domhoff from 1970:

“To overextend yourself is to invite defeat.”

Take it easy. Whatever it is you may be doing. Don’t overdo it. Don’t push it too hard. Take a moment to breathe, stretch, ponder. Treat yourself to some rest and relaxation.

Whether it be physical or mental, we all need to recharge.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours, Lisa.
